It’s that exciting time of year again—our Summer Youth Enrichment Program!
This unique, four-day experience is designed to expose 13–18-year-old youth from the City of Bloomington to the inner workings of municipal government.
Many participants may not otherwise have the opportunity to see what life is like behind the scenes of city operations. The program introduces students to the roles, responsibilities, and career paths within various city departments—including police, fire, engineering, public works, Parks & Rec, water, and arts & entertainment.
Through presentations, hands-on activities, demonstrations, field trips, and networking over lunch, students will gain valuable insights and connect directly with professionals in public service.

Duration: 4 Days (June 8th - June 11th, 2026)
Participants: City of Bloomington youth (ages 13–18)
Format: Presentations, interactive activities, field trips, lunch and networking opportunities
Locations: Government Center and various department field sites
