A Certificate of Apropriateness (CoA), issued by the City's Historic Preservation Commission, shall be required before the following actions affecting the exterior architectural appearance of any landmark or property within a historic district may be undertaken:
- Any construction, alteration, or removal requiring a building permit from the City;
- Any demolition in whole or in part requiring a permit from the City;
- Any construction, alteration, demolition, or removal affecting a significant exterior architectural feature as specified in a historic resource survey or in the ordinance designating the landmark or historic district.
Projects must comply with the City of Bloomington Architectural Review Guildelines.
Exterior projects on S-4 zoned properties may be eligible for a Funk Grant to help pay for up to 50% of the project's total cost. You can learn more by reviewing the Funk Grant Guidelines.
This same application is used to apply for your CoA project and an associated Funk Grant.
