Taxi/Downtown Shuttle Driver Permit Application

The following items must be submitted at the time of application submission:

a) Application fee of $25

b) Copy of a criminal background check, which at a minimum must:

1. Be done by a company that has been accredited by the National Association of Professional Background Screeners, or another organization approved by the City to perform criminal background checks. Please visit this page to find a complete list of all companies accepted. The following companies are not valid as of January 9, 2017: GoodHire.

2. Be Multi-State/Multi-Jurisdiction Criminal Records Locator or other similar commercial nationwide database with validation (primary source search).

3. Include a search of the National Sex Offender Registry database. The result MUST be included in order for the application to be accepted. If your background check does not include the result of the search, you can do a different search to find your results at the National Sex Offender Public Website.
