Liquor Catering License Application

Thank you for your interest in obtaining a liquor catering license in the City of Bloomington!

This application should be used for businesses outside of Bloomington, IL wanting to provide catering services that include alcoholic liquor and food.

Please be advised, in order for a submission to be considered complete, the application must be completely filled out and all supplemental attachments submitted by attaching them to the submitted application.

Description:

Catering Liquor Licenses are strictly for out-of-town businesses holding a Primary Liquor License from a municipality outside of Bloomington. A City of Bloomington Catering Liquor License, if approved, requires that food be served and that liquor only be provided via an open bar. Individual drink and/or bottle sales are not allowed.

Application Process:

*Applications and all supporting documents must be submitted at least 15 days in advance of the event date.

Once an application and all required supplemental documents are submitted, the Clerk Clerk Department will email an invoice number for the application to pay the Application Fee.
Once paid, the review of the application will begin.
Following the review, a City Clerk Department staff member will reach out to discuss the next steps.

In order for this application to be considered, Applicants must submit the following:

If Applicant will use a different name with the public than the name of the legal entity, proof of the DBA/Assumed Name is registered with the State of Illinois or the County where the Establishment is located.
Copy of State Liquor License AND Copy of Local Liquor License Where Establishment is Located
Food/Beverage Tax Registration Form with the City of Bloomington Finance Department - The form can be found Here
Certificate of Insurance (Not Policy Declaration Page)
1. The Certificate must show the establishment has liquor liability insurance and must include the following:
2. 1. Applicant’s name as the insured (e.g. if the applicant is a corporation, the corporation’s name must be listed);
  2. The date, times, and address of the location where the liquor is being consumed;
  3. The dates of coverage and the coverage limits

McLean County Food Permit (or food permit for the applicant's local municipality)

NOTE: IL Food Handler's Permit for the person(s) handling food for the event and BASSET Certificates for those selling/serving must be available upon request at the event.

Associated Fees:

$250 Application Fee - The applicant will receive an invoice number from the City Clerk Department shortly after submission
$100 License Fee per Event
